Machined from a single block of brass and finished with a sparkling rough texture.

Great looks, but a bit shallow

The bowl broke from the base when I picked it up to clean it a couple months after I began using it. Reattached with a metal bonding epoxy and it’s been reliable since. The hole for the incense stick is fairly deep, I filled that in a bit so less of the incense stick would be left in the base and subsequently be able to burn. Finally, the matte finish has a tendency to scorch and blacken if exposed to heat and ash. I consider this a benefit as it earns patina over time, but if you’re expecting it to remain pristine, you’d need to add a coat of laquer.

All in all, love the design/aesthetic and I was able to work around the quality control issues. For the price though, a bit disappointed I had to do that work.
